Calgary drivers urged to slow down amid snow-covered roads

CALGARY – The City of Calgary is warning drivers to play it safe while travelling on snow-covered streets.

Light flurries began falling at around 6 a.m. on Thursday, causing some roads to become slick and icy.

The Calgary Police Service said 44 collisions were reported between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., including three involving injuries.

Outside of the city, emergency crews were kept busy responding to collisions on highways throughout southern Alberta.

No injuries were reported when two trucks crash at Highway 2 and Highway 72 at around 7:30 a.m.
